A warm summer day brought a number of horse-drawn vehicles out to the Letourneau's Shire Hill Farm. In addition to single-horse and team vehicles, two outriders also participated, including one of the Shires that more frequently is seen in harness. Shires are "size XX-large" riding horses. The route for the parade of vehicles went around Square Lake and back -- to a potluck feast, overlooking the St. Croix River valley. One human-drawn, child's sleigh showed up at the event, but no volunteers came forth to pull this vehicle in the parade (maybe a little snow would help). It was an enjoyable afternoon for all participants.
