The day was sunny, hot, and humid, but the warm weather did not keep participants and horses away from the July drive at Letourneaus' Shire Hill Farm. Four teams ranging from 7 to 17 hands were hitched, and headed with their passangers to explore the roads around Square Lake. The ages of the drivers covered as broad a range, with the youngest being 10 years old. An array of large, colorful unbrellas appeared to shield some of the passangers from the sun. After the drive, some horses received showers, including Aria, the newest member of the Letourneau Shire heard. Aria is two month old. The potluck was excellent, as always, and was especially enjoyable on the patio overlooking the St. Croix Valley.
