Our Annual Sleigh Rally was cancelled this year, due to some organizational complications, but the club decided to go ahead with a private club drive, since the Washington County Fairgrounds was already reserved and paid for. There was some concern about the snow conditions (or lack of -- no need for plowing this year), but the decision was to go ahead with the event, and let individual drivers decide if they wanted to use runners or wheels. The temperature was fantastic for driving comfort (~30 deg F). Two teams and several single rigs participated. Even a push-sleigh made its way around the grounds, propelled by "small-person power." There were areas of snow, and areas of bare ground, but the ground was frozen, so the sleigh runners did not have much difficulty moving between patches of snow. The post-drive potluck in Hooley Hall provided great food and good conversation.
