The Manes & Tails Harness Club celebrated its 10-Year Annniversary at the "Barn at Copper Creek", a new event center near Menomonie, WI, owned by Mitch and Chase Potter. The work they have done converting the barn to a wedding venue is remarkable, from the handmade tables to the unique chandeliers hanging from the arched barn roof. From the large deck off the west end of the barn, one can look out over wooded hills and fields. Tastful landscaping surrounds the barn giving it a more formal look for special occasions.

Thirty-plus members came to the Anniversary event. Our meal consisted of wood-fired pizza, prepared by Fire Truck Pizza. In additio, salads, fruit and veggies, cookies and bars were served. There was ample seating availabe at the tables in the event center, and plenty of room to move around and visit with friends.

Our meal was fllowed by a drive through the hills and valleys surrounding the Potter's farm. Lush, green fields of corn and beans followed the contours of the hills. Wild flowers bloomed in the ditches. Ned Hahn and Buck gave rides. Mitch and Chase had Madsen's wagon hitched to their percherons. Jerry Nelson brought Willie and a 2-wheel cart. Ken and Kathy had Mo and Toen hitched to their "Republican" wagon. Umbrellas were a desirable commodity in the sunny, humid summer weather.
