This winter has been poor for sleighing, due to the lack of snow, and extensive ice that we have had to contend with. A last minute snowfall allowed the club to hold our annual Sleigh Day event at Washington County Fair Grounds, but most horses were not ready to be driven without prior training and conditioning. One dependable team of Shires, however, saved the day, and gave rides to all the club members who wanted a ride, and it was great for socializing on the sleigh, and watching. The weather (low 30's) was perfect for being outside. The potluck after the sleigh ride was amazing, and could have fed twice as many people as were in attendance.
