We were lucky, again, with the weather cooperating for our last drive of the season. The sun came out and the temperature reached about 60 degrees, with a strong breeze that benefitted the horses that have been working on their winter coats. The Mittag's hosted our dirive at their farm near River Falls, Wisconsin. Three rigs went out with 15 passenters to explore their field, with their bovine audience watching attentively. Bill pulled a buckboard with four people, Willie pulled a Meadowbrook with two peole, and Mo and Toven pulled a wagon with the remaining riders. The fields were rolling hills with a few more bumps than our usual road drives, but it was very scenic with the green fields from our early fall rains, and the beginnings of fall color changes boardering the fields. After the drive, we had a nice potluck with a good variety of food and drink items. The serving table for our potluck was unique -- a VERY LARGE SLEIGH -- that Liz is in the process of building. We had 17 members attending the potluck and our monthly meeting that followed. It was a very enjoyable way to spend a lovely fall Saturday.
