The weather was beautiful and there was a good turnout for the August drive at Wil and Joan Kowalchyk's near Ellsworth, WI. A number of two- and four-wheeled vehicles, pulled by singles and teams could be found wandering through the beautiful Wisconsin hills. The weather was particularly noteworthy, since this summer's drives have been challenged with both cold and rainy, or hot and muggy conditions. The horses seemed to be enjoying this drive as much as their passengers. One vehicle of particular interest was the Waltons' work-in-progress, that they are planning to use on the drives in South Dakota this fall. They DO intend to go in comfort this year!
